CARSON >> The good times that the Galaxy enjoyed earlier this month is now gone, replaced by the lost search of goals a win.

Sunday, for the third consecutive game, the Galaxy again had no bite to its offense and fell short, as the Seattle Sounders (7-3-3, 24 points) rolled to a 3-1 win at Dignity Health Sports Park.

“The first half, we didn’t have the attitude we needed to have, in the second half, we changed it a little bit,” Galaxy coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto said.

Sebastian Lletget snapped a 365-minute scoreless streak with his goal in the 88th minute. It was the Galaxy’s first goal since Sept. 6.

It was the two chances earlier in the half for Lletget that could have changed the tone of the game.

With the Galaxy trailing 2-0, Lletget found himself open inside the box, but his shot was easily secured by Seattle goalkeeper Stefan Frei.

In the 50th minute, Lletget’s next chance resulted in a header in the box, maybe even a better chance than the first, but he was unable to get that on target.

While the Galaxy was wasteful in its attempts, the same couldn’t be said for the Sounders.

In the 12th minute, Jordan Morris beat his defender down the left flank and set up Cristian Roldan for the goal.

Morris wasn’t finished. In the 38th minute, he caught up to a dissecting ball from midfield from Nicolas Lodeiro and beat Galaxy goalkeeper David Bingham for Seattle’s second goal.

Roldan scored in the 61st minute for a 3-0 lead for the Sounders.

The Galaxy played a listless first half as the Sounders, but to its credit, showed a better effort in the second half, but it was too late.

The loss leaves the Galaxy on 15 points, now only one point out of last place in the Western Conference, but three points out of the eighth and final playoff spot.

The Sounders were without leading goal scorer Raul Ruidiaz, who was serving a one-game suspension for an incident in last Wednesday’s game against Portland.

The Galaxy do not have midweek game this week and will return Saturday at San Jose.

Julian Araujo, who returned Sunday after a one-game suspension, will miss the game after receiving a yellow card in the first half.

New acquisition Yony Gonzalez, who finally arrived in town this week, watched the game from a luxury suite. He will join team in training for the upcoming week.
