One of these days, the Cal State Fullerton men’s basketball team will play its season opener, but another opportunity to do so was scratched on Friday when the Titans’ game at San Diego was postponed due to COVID-19-related issues a few hours before the scheduled 7 p.m. tipoff.
The game will be rescheduled subject to the determination of a mutually agreeable available date for both programs.
Fullerton was originally scheduled to open its season against USD at the Husky Classic in Seattle on the day before Thanksgiving, but that four-team event was canceled when CSF and USD both had coronavirus issues, leading to a 14-day quarantine for Fullerton’s program.
Fullerton planned to face Bethesda University, an Anaheim-based NAIA team, on Wednesday at Titan Gym, but Bethesda had to bow out because of its own COVID-related issues.
CSF is next scheduled to host San Diego Christian, another NAIA team, on Sunday at 3 p.m.
