According to California public heath websites’ end-of-day totals Tuesday, there were a record number of 51,773 new cases reported in one day, bringing the total number of people infected with coronavirus to 1,697,341.
There was also a record-number of 428 new deaths reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 21,877.
There were also an additional 540 more patients admitted into California’s hospitals bringing the total number of hospitalizations to 16,426.
