Knott’s Berry Farm could be forced to alter, delay or cancel its popular Taste of Merry Farm food festival because of the Southern California stay-at-home order set to go into effect this weekend.
Knott’s officials said they will have more information soon on the impact of the state’s stay-at-home order on Taste of Merry Farm and other Knott’s businesses.
“Taste of Merry Farm will operate through Sunday, Dec. 6,” according to the Knott’s website. “More information on future dates will be provided early next week.”

Southern California restaurants and food and beverage locations will be restricted to take-out orders only when the regional stay-at-home order begins late Sunday night, Dec. 6.
Knott’s and other California theme parks closed in mid-March and remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many California theme parks have partially reopened without rides for dining, shopping and special events.

Taste of Merry Farm kicked off Nov. 20 and was scheduled to run on select dates through Jan. 3 as the latest in a series of food, beer and wine festivals at the Buena Park theme park. The popular event is sold out through Dec. 27.
The Taste of Merry Farm took the concept of the previous Taste of Calico, Taste of Knott’s and Taste of Fall-O-Ween events at Knott’s and added a winter holiday twist with a menu celebrating seasonal flavors.

Knott’s will have to determine whether the food and drinks offered at more than 30 Taste of Merry Farm booths are considered by state officials to be outdoor dining or take-out dining. Merry Farm visitors are instructed to eat and drink only while seated at dozens of tables throughout the park. The next Taste of Merry Farm event is Friday, Dec. 11.
Disneyland has interpreted “take-out dining” to mean that food and drinks must be consumed off premises. Disneyland has closed several restaurants in the Buena Vista Street shopping and dining experience at Disney California Adventure and prohibited eating and drinking by visitors on Disney property in response to the state’s stay-at-home order.
